Electronics Repair Engineer (In-house)

Salary: £32,000 – £36,000 (DOE) + Bonus + Private Medical Insurance

About the Role
We are looking for a talented Electronics Repair Engineer to join our growing laboratory instrument service and support team. This is a hands-on, workshop-based role, working on a wide range of laboratory instruments.

You will be responsible for refurbishing, testing, calibrating, repairing and maintaining laboratory equipment to a high standard. The role requires strong technical ability combined with problem-solving skills, working within a team that values expertise and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Refurbish, configure and test laboratory instruments

  • Diagnose faults and carry out component or sub-assembly level repairs

  • Calibrate instruments to exacting standards

  • Work from technical drawings, manuals and SOPs

  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised workspace

  • Prepare instruments for online sales

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong knowledge of electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies

  • Skilled in using calibration and diagnostic equipment

  • Confident in reading and interpreting circuit diagrams and technical drawings

  • Logical and methodical problem-solving skills

  • Good IT skills and accurate record keeping

  • Strong communication and teamwork

Education & Experience

  • ONC/HNC, NVQ or equivalent in Engineering, Instrumentation, Electronics or a related field

  • Experience in equipment servicing, repair or calibration of laboratory or medical equipment is an advantage but not essential

  • Candidates with transferable technical skills from related fields are encouraged to apply
